Accessibility statement for chapelandhillchorltonpc.uk
This web site is run by Chapel and Hill Chorlton Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
The web site uses the Word press system and is automatically navigable by mouse and keyboard, or by voice commands if necessary (these are features that are built into the browsers with accessibility, both on PC and Mac)
It should be noted that scan of the site still needs to be taken to work on reducing the number of repetitively issues that may cause problems for some screen readers.
The site is clearly set out using a simple menu format.
If you wish to zoom in to make the text larger just hold down control and then + or -, which will zoom in to a maximum of 500%. (Control-0) will reset to 100%.
The majority of content is text. Where images are present a description will be used.
We know that there are some documents that are not easily accessible.
- Most older PDF documents are not accessible to screen reader software.
- Scanned in documents, converted to PDF, that is from original handwritten sources.
If you as a user find any of the older PDF and Word documents are not meeting accessibility standards-for example, they may not be structured so they are accessible to a screen reader-please contact the Clerk to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
The Parish Council is also aware that it needs to regularly scan for compliance and publish this information. This will take place before December 2020.
There have been difficulties in service due to Covid-19. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you find any problems not listed in this statement or if you have any suggestions that may improve the accessibility of the site to ensure full compliance.
